Now you too can have the most technologically advanced PC-based, high speed
motion control Computer Numeric Control (CNC) on your shop floor! The Vega MLM series of CNC's
deliver high performance using 32 bit PC-based, computer
technology and is based on an open architeucture platform. The MLM CNC
Series has true Integrated constant-rate with block look ahead
acceleration/deceleration allowing higher finishing feedrates while
maintaining part accuracy. The advanced vector analysis ensures that
the constant rate acceleration/deceleration keeps the machine motion
smooth and fast.
Manufactured and Maintained in the USA
The MLM series of CNC's (Computer Numeric Control) give you standard features you would
expect in a full featured, PC-based CNC control without the cost
associated with most options. We understand that you need all the tools
required to do a job efficiently and cost effectively. The list of
standard features on the Vega MLM Series CNC software reads like most
CNC's option list.
One of the major innovations in the MLM Series CNC (Computer Numeric Control) software is the
unique Block Processing System that comprises the following sections:
Block Parser
The function of the Block Parser is to read a block of NC code from the
input device and parse it into binary form for high speed processing by
the subsequent CNC operations.

Acceleration/Deceleration Preprocessor
The Acceleration/Deceleration preprocessor performs vector analysis on
the resulting blocks and calculates a maximum allowable feedrate for
the end of each block. The Acceleration/Deceleration preprocessor then
completes its task by transferring the new block into the
Acceleration/Deceleration FIFO buffer.
Interpolator and Acceleration/Deceleration Processor
The Acceleration/Deceleration processor creates true constant rate
acceleration and deceleration as opposed to "S" curve or other
Acceleration/Deceleration processors. Constant-rate acceleration and
deceleration result in the shortest possible time (or distance) for
stopping or accelerating to the programmed speed for a given peak
acceleration or deceleration. Other profiles cause loss of time at the
beginning or end (or both) of an acceleration or deceleration.
The Interpolator withdraws blocks from the Acceleration/Deceleration
buffer and interpolates each block into points spaced by 2 to 4 ms.
Each point lies on the line or arc defined by the block. Spacing is
based on the distance remaining to get to the end of the block, the
overridden programmed feed rate, and the allowable feed rate at the end
of the block. The interpolator stuffs each interpolated point, along
with its time period, into the Axis Drive FIFO buffer.

- Optimize your cutting speed through reduction in machine vibration.
- High speed positioning through vector analyzed part programs data is better than just plain look ahead.
- Reduce your benching time by utilizing finer data points without machine slow down.
- Increase your productivity with higher finishing feedrates while maintaining surface accuracy.
The integrated constant-rate dynamic acceleration/deceleration
dramatically improves surface finishes at higher feedrates by utilizing
the maximum torque constant of the servomotors. Basic CNC I/O
interfaces such as spindle control, spindle control with automatic gear
change, tool changers, part indexers and pallet shuttle are just a few
of the many logic modules available. With human-readable error
messages, user prompts, and a menu driven interface, the MLM is one of
the friendliest controls on the block. There are no error numbers to
decipher, just plain English. The display pages were designed by
operators for operators.
