Joe Harmon has worked with and for BJ Haffly for over 10 years. His career in the millwright industry began over 15 years ago as a custom fabricator and welder for a local manufacturer and has widened and enhanced his skill set dramatically during that time. Initially adopting similar techniques and procedures under Mr. Haffly's tutelage, Joe has since become a leading millwright, technician, machine mechanic, laser technician and project manager in his own right. Joe has led many projects in the $10 to $20 million range for companies such as Siemens, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed.
Lead positions with two of the largest Rigging and Millwright operations in Dallas/Fort Worth have provided him the background necessary to successfully execute the day to day operational duties associated with schedule, budget, personnel and equipment issues. His experience includes foundation inspections, layout of machines and components, floor grade inspections, set up and layouts of machine pads, levelers or fixators, and proper installation of machine bases and components, leveling and alignment of machines according to factory specifications. Joe is also certified with Hamar laser equipment to ensure level, straightness, flatness, parallelism, and perpendicularity of geometry's of machines, as well as the use of Renishaw lasers for rotary axis calibrations and in checking and adjustment of linear positioning of axes. Joe has had advanced training to perform extruder barrel laser alignment and injection molding platen alignment, as well as roll alignment and blown film lines. Joe's laser experience and training spans over 8 years and he is considered an industry leader in the use and advancement of laser systems on a wide variety of machines and projects.
